Alexandros Malagaris
Alexandros Malagaris was born and raised in Samos.
He holds a Science degree in management from the University of Wales – Swansea and a Masters degree from the University of Surrey – Guildford in the United Kingdom.
He has been SCUBA diving since 1995 and currently he is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and a Dive Rescue International Trainer.
He is an Emergency First Response (EFR) instructor and Sea Survival for Divers Instructor.
He served in the Special Forces of the Hellenic Army, where he is a reservist to this day.
With extensive field experience, he completed his Public Safety Diving training in Panama City Fire Department in Florida USA, where he graduated as Dive Rescue I Trainer class leader.
In 2018 he was awarded the Silver Fin Award by the International Association of Dive Rescue Specialists (IADRS) in Illinois USA, for being the most improved public safety diver of the year and for his contribution in the development of public safety diving in Greece.
Focused in the protection of the marine environment he works tirelessly with his fellow divers and students for safer and cleaner seas.His efforts were highlighted by Project Aware, SCUBA Diver Magazine and in the book Be A Wave Maker.
